What is the Noxsquad Gameshow?
The Noxsquad Gameshow is a gameshow built within Minecraft. We have a bank of dozens of minigames spanning many different types, such as races, PvP games and puzzle games. Originally, the project was made to be a fan-made version of the Noxcrew Gameshow, and still to this day it provides the biggest source of inspiration for our project.
Previous GameJam Games
A PvP game based around placing and dodging fire. Players have a flint and steel, and the team that kills all players on the opposing team wins.
A parkour/wool placement game. Collect wool from the arena, open a random spot in the grid by having 3 players (can mix and match the team) stand on the pressure plates near the spawn, and then head to your base. Score points by having at least two matching colours in any row or column, so a column with 3 red blocks and 1 green block would score 3 points (if another green block was placed in that column then you'd get 5 points). An air block (i.e. an opened spot without a block placed in it) will make the column and row it sits in score 0, whereas unopened spots are ignored. The team with the highest score wins.
An arcade game based on standing on coloured spots. At the end of each 10 second running-around period, you are frozen in place. When this happens, if a team has more players standing on a given colour than the other team, they will win that colour (e.g. Blue has 2 players stood on green, but Yellow only has 1 player stood on green, so Blue wins green). 1 point is awarded for each colour that is won. The first team to reach the target number of points wins.
